Find a Midwifery Clinic in Toronto - access the right fit of care provider for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum

We are so lucky to have a number of OHIP covered Midwifery clinics in the city of Toronto. Midwives are a perfect choice of care provider if you are considered a low risk pregnancy.

Here are some benefits of working with midwives:

βœ”οΈ Complete, safe and provincially funded medical support. Midwifery care is funded by the Ministry of Health and covered by OHIP. Midwives care for both you and your baby. You do not need to see your family doctor, an obstetrician, or a pediatrician (until 6 weeks postpartum) when you are under the care of a midwife.

βœ”οΈ More choices in birth place. All midwifery practices in Toronto have privileges at one local hospital. Most attend births at the Toronto Birth Centre. All practices support home births.

βœ”οΈ Guaranteed team at your birth. Midwives commonly work in teams of 2 or 3, so that there is always someone available to support you, for any urgent concerns. They will support you at their clinic during pregnancy, at your home for the first weeks postpartum, and at their clinic for subsequent postpartum visits.

βœ”οΈ Postpartum care. Midwives provide evidence based information and medical care through pregnancy, during birth, and until 6 weeks postpartum. They’ll even come to your home for your first couple postpartum visits - that means less car seat wrangling and baby bag packing!

Find below a list of all the midwifery clinics in Toronto. We’ve organized them by location for your convenience - you do want to choose your midwives based on the location of their office and the hospital that they’re associated with.
